Woodland Babes
The other sweet baby girl quilt, was done with a super simple and easy beginner friendly pattern – a four-patch block combined with a larger square. To make it a little bigger and frame in the patchwork, a couple of borders.
More simple straight line quilting, and backed with soft fleece. I love how the back coordinates so well with the front.
This project was quick and easy, perfect for learning and even more perfect for wrapping up sweet little babies in.
One of the things I love about quilting is variety in fabric – not every quilt has to be made from the same line or collection. I often times, like to find a focal print, be it a novelty pattern or big florals, and then wander around the quilt shop looking for things that go together, mixing and matching, adding more and more bolts to my stack until I can no longer carry them, and then pairing it back to whatever design I have in mind.
