A Heart for Quilting, A Home for Creativity

Hey there, I’m Amanda — the maker behind Sunflower Hollow.

I call rural southwestern Oregon home — where I live with my husband, our lively crew of teenagers, two dogs, and one mischievous orange cat, who seems to think my space is also his.

When I’m not in my sewing room, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen trying out whatever new recipe the kids insist we simply have to make, cheering from the sidelines at one of their sporting events, or escaping into the mountains for fresh air, quiet trails, and a little adventure.

I’ve been sewing and making for as long as I can remember. I first learned to sew when I was a kid. I’d trade my aunt babysitting for fabric and patterns, and she’d patiently teach me how to sew. Those early days sparked a lifelong love for creating things with my hands.

Through my teens and adult years, I made everything — clothes, bags, home décor, and of course, quilts. Then life got busy (as it often does) — marriage, small children, work — and my sewing machine gathered dust for a while.

Fast forward a few years, a few big life changes, and a whole lot of growth later… I found myself craving something just for me. So, I dusted off that old sewing machine — and instantly felt that familiar joy again. My passion for making was reignited, and quilting became my refuge — a creative space to unwind, dream, and simply be me.

And from that spark, Sunflower Hollow Quilting was born — a budding brand built on creativity, community, and the simple joy of making beautiful things by hand.

While the website is still being stitched together, my vision is clear: someday, I hope to open a cozy fabric shop and quilting studio — a welcoming space filled with color, laughter, friendship, and, of course, beautiful fabric to “pet.”
