Grace’s Honeycomb
Grace, my middle daughter, requested a quilt that was yellow and grey with sunflowers and bees. She has loved the color yellow since she was just a wee-little thing.
Pulling the fabrics for this hexi quilt made my heart so happy. It was such a fun fabric pull, combining some of my favorite things into something she loved.
The hexagons look complicated, but this simple method allows you to piece the half-hexies into rows, which you then get to straight stitch together; so no Y-seams needed.
To give it a little more size, I wrapped it with a couple of borders, which ended up framing it all so nicely.
