Golden Hour
Sometimes, the idea in our head, makes it to paper, and then paper to fabric – and it just doesn’t come out the way we really hoped. This is one of those projects for me – the background fabric ended up being way too busy or maybe it’s the points of the stars that actually blend in – either way – it’s bright, and cheery – and full of my most favorite, Sunflowers.
There are a couple fabrics in this quilt that I have had for as long as I have been sewing – they were left over from a dress I had made (more than once because the pattern is so-so cute).
I may attempt to recreate this pattern again, now that I have been back to quilting as a lifestyle, instead of a hobby left to collect dust on a shelf.
Aside from the sunflowers, I love how each center of the sawtooth stars are gingham and the little extra design that the sashsing creates with the mini-flowers.
For my next go round with this one – I’ll be changing some things up and writing them down into a pattern to eventually release into the wild.
