2025 Year in Review
2025 has come and gone, with its fair share of ups and downs, chaos and calm; sometimes more of one than the other. Overall, it was a productive year, although at times I felt like I needed to create more. I ended the year with several completed projects to be loved on and added a few more to the evergreen pile of UFO’s. Taught a couple of classes and opened the window to the future.
Here’s a peek at all the pieced tops (some are actually even finished!)

- Tshirt quilt – my first full T-shirt quilt for a dear friend.
- Porch Steps – inspired by some designs I found on Pinterest, this will be a pattern available later in 2026.
- Jelly Roll Day Sew Along – Jelly Roll Arrows
- Cozy Crossroads Quilt – my first pattern, a take on the Arkansas Crossroads (pattern is available)
- Barn Star Sampler by Shelly Cavana – made with the Pioneer Woman fabric line
- Seaside Picnic Quilt – quick and easy project using just a layer cake and sashing
- Bright Carpenter Star
- Daybreak Sparkling Rhombi – a free pattern from Art Gallery Fabrics
- Patriotic Star Trails – Star Trails Pattern by A Bright Corner
- Ohio Star Mini – a Missouri Star Quilt Co. pattern, those tiny stars are just so cute!
- Spinning Sunflowers – another Pinterest inspired design & my first time using batiks
- Boxy Diamonds Woodland Quilt – no pattern, just some simple blocks
- Lonestar Wallhanging – no pattern, made using only scraps
- Fall Picnic Checkers – no pattern, just simple 5″ squares of color/pattern alternating with white
- Loving Wishes – a Maple Cottage design pattern, made for a sweet baby
- Jelly Boxes – a simple jelly roll pattern that will be available in 2026.
But wait, that’s not all! Sometimes I just needed a quick project to fill the time and have the satisfaction of completing something. Some of the smaller projects, like mug rugs, pillow covers, and bags, are a great way to practice different techniques or try out a block without committing to a whole new quilt, and bonus, they can use up some of that scrap bin!

I also got a little more familiar with my quilting machine this year. Finally figuring out tension (although that one is still a thorn in my side at times) and trying out a couple of different thread types. Trying different designs and just getting practice and confidence in the process. My super handy husband helped me modify my quilting table to have extension sides so there is less drag when pushing the big ones around, which helped some of the struggle immensely. I did learn that I do not enjoy quilting with minky (it takes a lot of muscle and patience ), although worth it, since they are the absolute favorite couch snuggle quilts.

Here’s to another year of creativity, growth, and making dreams come true.
