Old Thyme Sampler

This year I decided to try out a sew-along. There are so many out there to choose from. I went with Moda Blockheads 6. I started out strong and completed blocks as they were released…and then, in true me fashion, got sidetracked with some other projects, got hung up on colors/patterns and placements.

I did not make every block that was released. I believe there were 21 blocks released; I chose to only do 11 of the 9″ blocks and added one of my own. I put sashing between each.

It is backed with a super cute teal and white floral print that I found at one of our local quilt shops in the clearance aisle and then rounded it out with some scrappy binding that combines all the different fabrics.

For the quilting, I did an all over swirly, paisley, feather design that I free motion quilted with my HandiQuilter Sweet Sixteen.

It turned out super sweet and colorful.
