Merry Little Rag Quilt
Rag quilts; a love-hate project for me. I really, really want to love making them, because they are cozy, they are homey, they are so, so cute – but I don’t love the process of snipping all those edges.
This is only my second rag quilt, the first is quite a lot smaller, and coincidentally, also a themed holiday quilt (except its fall and *shocker, sunflowers).
Pulling together all the various flannels for this was probably my favorite part. I chose a traditional red, green and white themed prints. I can distinctly remember the mental torture I put myself through, because although scrappy is so fun, it is something my brain struggles with immensely. Something about “what if it’s not perfect” and balance.
Perfect for those winter days when you just want to snuggle on the couch and great for adding a pop of holiday whimsy around the house.
I encourage you to give a new technique a try. What’s the worst that could happen?? If you absolutely hate it, don’t try it again, but if it’s a “well that was kind of fun”, just use that technique occasionally.
