Sounds of September

If you’re a hunter or elk enthusiast you know that September in the elk woods sounds different. That’s when the bull elk decide to be vocal, bugling, looking for the ladies. It’s also when hunters in search of elk, try calling them in and if you’re lucky, you’re on the tracks of the next big bull, not someone’s uncle trying to find the same bull you’re after.

Sounds of September is another panel quilt, and at this point it was probably my 4th – and it took me still forever, to decide just how I wanted to border it. I took the color inspiration from the colors within the panel – warm, transition from summer to fall; so green, red, orange, yellow.

Tried some block styles I typically would not use as a go to and love it.
